water temp cut off switch
I just had to replace a motor due to a water pump gasket failure.
#1 with open exhaust the horn is useless.
#2 temp gauge is hard to watch and drive at the same time.
so the only thing I can think of is a shut off switch.
Any thoughts???

How about a SHOCK collar!
Sorry couldn't resist. I know what you mean though. I don't know of a shut down gauge that would hold up but a temperature switch the ones for an electric fan on cars might work. I think I would want a big light or something else. Not sure I want my motor shut down with no notice at WOT. An electronic set up with a limp mode would be best I would think.

you could shut down your engine with a temp switch although it is not a great idea/simple is better. you could end up damaging your engine worse due to heat soak, not to mention you or a passenger. prior to overheat you loose water pressure. a mandatory gauge. first install that and then via a tee fitting on the back of the gauge, install a 5lb pressure switch wired to a big ass red light where you can't miss it. (autometer, gaffrig).
