lotoparty,

My 342 came with the Corsa silent choice
system.
No complaints other than the muffler tips
are very restrictive. I have new straight thru
tips on order.

What is on the boat now? If you have straight thru-transom exhaust, I would suggest a set of Teague switchables. I think that would be about the easiest. If you have the "Y" pipe going down to your gimbal, then maybe you would want the Corsa Quick and Quiet system..

it was born with straight thru transom exhaust.
no y-pipe
ive been reading forums today and someone posted the teagues CANT be used over 3000 rpm.
im afraid if i go that route ill forget to open them up a do some serious damage.
soooooooo , now im thinking installing the y-pipe might be the safest thing to do.

I've seen complete Merc silent choice systems 4 sale, ( y-pipe, air pump, both divertor valves) for around $500. Sometimes cheaper. Seen advertised in both Trader On Line and OSO classifieds.
The Corsa is nice, no air pump or cyls to leak, and switch in a split second. Either Merc or Corsa will be more quiet than switchable mufflers.

Bingo!

BTW, had the Merc air system on my last Fountain, New Fountain has the electric Corsa. I prefer the Corsa between the 2.

I know that I am a little late with my response, but we make a non- switchable silencer that doesn't reduce any horsepower and because of the way that we silence the engine it has an excellent sound to it. Another plus is that it doesn't have any mechanical parts to go wrong and we don't use a steel wool packing that will burn out in a few months.
