New Valvoline "Not streer legal" synth. oil
Saw this stuff at NAPA. Cant find much info on the web. The bottle says its a fully synth. oil with high levels of additives that will damage catyletic converters. They have he usual weights as well as a straight 50wt that I may try in the boat. The best part, its less then $3 a quart.

Just get a multi weight as straight 50 is good for race motors with 3.5 to 4 clearance or more on rods and main and anything else it would be tough on starting and until the oil gets hot to thick to circ properly ,,I don't know that oil never heard of one that is bad on converters

Bad on converters?!?! hmmm....if there are any chemicals that MAY be bad for them then i woudl think you would need a good internal leak of some sort to get to the cats!

All of the new oils have reduced the additive package that is harmful to the cats. There are a few RACE oils that still have the additive package in them ,, Red Line, Torco,....... ect...
As far as drawing oil or mist into the cat, look at the pcv system, it runs right into the the air cleaner and sometimes into the air intake plumbing!
