If you know Doug Fisck(sp) in Lee Summit he had a guy make several for him at a machine shop. There also was someone on the board making and selling them.

use your search engine to go to "mercstuff". He makes them himself, is a hell of a machinist and honest as the day is long....and sells other mercstuff and great prices too. He even de magnitizes them vefore shipping. I can't say enough good things about how good he treats customers and how good his prices are...his name is Mike....I've known him for about 20 years... Well, I received my tool...really nice with knurlized handle. Now if I could just get the FU@#$NG thing aligned...man, am I PISSED....it has to be the coupler splines...Has anyone ever done this by themselves turning each motor mount 1/2 turn at a time all the way up...getting in and out of the boat after each 1/2 turn!!!!I feel like JayL13!! I was so depressed, I couldn't even drink a beer. The only odd thing that I could see is that the rear mounting bolts that attach the the motor to the transom plate are about a 1/4" differnt in height, but are both torqued down and there is no gap where the leather washers are.
I suspected that I might have an alignment issue because the drive didn't slide off that easily...I don't see any aluminum particulate to speak of on the tail splines....2 years old , low hours, moderate power [415hp]. Anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance, Berg.

I may have figured it out as I was eriting the first post. Both the transom mounting bolts when fully seated and torqued, should be stick up the same amount, right? If not, then the engine would lift or lower at the back mount when adjusting the front mount...making the motor out of kilter, I hope??!! Only thing is, both bolts seem torqued
