Thermostat cover gaskets leaking water
Just installed my new t-stats, asn housings, used merc gaskets and plenty of Ultra Black. and when I turned the hose on water came pissing out between the housing and the top cover
I since then removed the t-stats and drilled a hole in each one so there isnt is much pressure on them.
Should I try to re use the merc gaskets (still in pretty good shape)
or cut my own from a thicker material??
Also should I use sealer on this or not??
Thanks in advance

Hey wait guys....I thought a special mercruiser gasket was required there which had a conductive strip on it so that your temperature overheat alarm would work in case of an overheat.....has this part been changed or is everyone ignoring their overheat alarm in the thermostat housing???? Glenn
