Cam driven water pump
Has anyone used one of these pumps on a blown engine 540ci? If so how do you mount your powersteering and alternator? Mercury has a kit that works fine for the alternator. It fits lower port and works great. The problem is the lower starboard side with the powersteering on a GenVI block.
any thoughts?
We boat in an area where we are constantly changing impellers due to heat and sand (Lake Havasu) so it really is a good idea to be able to change the impeller in seconds as compared to hours.

I run the same pump on my 406 smallblock in My little Cigarette
The alternator mounts lower port and the power steering is lower stbd.I believe that the mounts are Gil Brand also there are Timing (cogged) Belts instead of V-belts they seem to work pretty good ,but alignment is critical to belt life more so than a V-belt.Do you have two v-grooves on your accessory pulley? If so a Bracket would not be too hard to make. What fuel pump do you intend to run electric?

Yes i have two v-grooves accessory pulley. I have tried every Mercury, cpperformance, teague custom marine and nothing works. They are either for the port side or are too tight fitting between the stringers. As for the fuel pump i use an electric Areomotive high volume.
I have a custom rod power steering bracket that worked fine for the PS unit, but then I had trouble finding a lower mount alternator bracket or for that matter an upper head mount that looks good.
So you see I was back where I started from but know it was the alternator.
Thanks.
