Default Run The Oil Pan Dry?

How do the offshore/poker run type engines keep from running the pan dry?

14 qt pan? Is that enough?

Do not want to run restrictors. Need plenty for hydraulic roller with the max spring tension.

I haven't had that problem with a 7 quart pan it should drain back fast and Your right don't ever run restrictors as you said you need the oil to cool the springs and keep lifters in shape the cam has the most load of anything in the motor and oil is important

If your empting the pan theres something else wrong ,go for it
