Bravo 1 oil temp?
I am installing an oil temp gauge on my stock bravo 1. I was wondering what the normal temp would be. The motor is a 502 MPI with Gil exhaust and K&N filter. High X dimension. Thanks!!

Can you give us some info on your temp gage? I just lost an XZ due to a spun bearing on the vertical driveshaft. The bearing is cheap, the damage the heat did will not be. A temp gage would have caught it before more damage was done. My only indication something was wrong was the throttle position did not feel right for the speed I was going. About 10 seconds after that the drive reservoir bottle blew its lid right off. I am sure that bearing was gradually building heat before it locked up and spun the race.
You might call Simrek (SP?), I think they had a test article on their drive showers. It may have been in HotBoat magazine.

Baddog, I got my gauge from Doller. The part # is GIDTKW1. I'm almost positive it's worn off. The gauge reads from 140 to 320 degrees.
How many hours are on your drives? Do you have big HP?
I'll check in the hot boat for that test, Thanks, John
