Post What header would you buy IF

01. ya live in the salt
02. ya dry stack and flush your boat and you never leave your boat in the water longer than a weekend.
03. ya have 502's bored .06" over with top mount whipples running 4 to 6 lbs. (intercooled)
04. ya turnin your motors 5400 to 5800.
05. ya motors are custom buit top to bottom (Merlin heads, roller cam and roller valve train). Dyno around 840 with 6 lbs at 6000.

Which header will last the longest? Will the salt and or the higher exhaust temps have a differnet life span on a blower motors?
Will my buddy be better off with an alum. cast header instead of a tubluar header in terms of a header lasting longer. He doesn't mind losing some hp that a tubular header (Ex. CMI) would give him if a cast alum header Ex. Imco) would last longer in his engine and water type (salt) set up.

He will be selling two sets of Stainless Marine headers with silent choice. His headers are fine for what he had but not for 800+ hp. Call Keith @ 843-458-3745 for sale of his headers.

Default He had trouble getting valves

He finally got them but I don't think they have pulled them yet but should be soon. Since the valves were late Mark took on some more jobs and has been working on them. Mark seems to be a good mechanic from what Keith has been telling me.

Wette Vette and Fountain 38 are right on. CMI or stellings if you can afford them, will flow no problem any horsepower you can through at them(the exception being the elbow top risers on the CMI sport tubes...they start getting restrictive around 850-900hp) DO NOT buy anthing aluminum or cast iron as even though they will flow decent hp(up to around 600+) the salt WILL eat them alive...expecially getting hot and crystalizing in the runners-flush or no flush. If you are under a budget, LOOK AROUND, shop for a set of used headers(real ones, not manifolds) I got two sets of CMI Sport tubes WITH the full length four pipes collectors in great shape for less then 1,200 shipped. Keep up with your visits to the parts for sale forum here and on **********.org...I remember seeing sets of stellings for 2,000...8,000 cheaper than new, and good stainless nevers rusts out.
