496 MAG secrets?????
I am looking for simple quick HP gains from the 496 MAG. I currently run the 2002 375HP and complained about the leaking soot; Merc. sent a re-programed ECM / PCM to lean the engine. Sounds like a good start; should I supplement with a K&N air filter?? Are there internal plastic / rubber inserts / baffles in the capt.call that could be removed??? ANY HELP FROM YOU 496 MAG OWNERS, WHO HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

THANKS ccarloss! I have checked them out, not really for the ILLINOIS River. I am just looking to find hidden Hp.
LAB THE PROP?????
K&N Air Filter???
Baffles in the "Y" exhaust???
Larger pitch???
Again -- I am running 496 MAG @ w.o.t. 4850rpm. 22P Mirage. 25'7", 4350# dry. 67 mph under typical conditions; LOOKING TO BREAK THE 70mph MARK.

3 to 5 HP isn't going to get you to 70. The K&N element might get you 1/2 MPH, or then again it might add nothing. But it will look really cool and the cool factor is worth a lot!
Someone said lap the prop - probably the surest approach far 2 - 3 MPH
