Default best prop for 1995 Baja 32 Caliber

Any one know from experience with this hull, and 502's. right now it is running hydro Q4 24", I was thinking either Mirage plus 25" or Bravo 24". But have heard the Hydro is a good prop , I just have had no experience with them. They are also spinning in, should I leave them in or spin them out?

25 mirage +'s may put you at the
low end of the rpm scale.

A friend of mine has a 96' 32
w/500's, 25 mirage +'s were on the
low end of the rpm scale. (4800)

It's currently running a set of
labbed 28 bravo's.

Top end was about the same,
but the handling is better.

The 32' is the only boat I've driven
that doesn't seem squirrely with
inside rotation.

Even though the handling's ok,
it still has inside rotation's
ill handling docking characteristics.

Don't know about the Hydro's.

When I was running 400hp per side, the best prop for top end was a 3 blade mirage. I was turning a 23p with a 1.36 gear. The 25p mirage plus or labbed mirage plus should put you in the correct RPM range if you are running a 1.50 gear. Boat should run in the low 70's. I now run 26p Bravo 1's and spin them in the 5000rpm range. I also turn my props in. You can get use to the backing but it is poor.

Notched, do you have any pics? The reason I say mirage + 25 is because it is currentlly spinning 24"Hydramotive q 4's at 5,000

I would recommend a 4Blade for your application. You need to run about 5000 at WOT. I believe that the Hydromotive QIV-X would be a very good prop to test with and the P5-X if you are interested in a 5 Blade depending on your goals, of course.

I have a wall of test props and would be happy to assist in any way possible!

Can't post any pics here. I just surf through every now and then so I'm not a premium member. I have several posted on other boating sites. Just look for Notched Baja id. The only notched transom 32 baja produced.
