Memphis "Belle" audio amplifier
Anyone ever heard of a Memphis Belle audio amp? They sell the 16-ST1300D which has some pretty nice specs: 75w x4 @4ohms Class AB amp, with an INTEGRATED 1000w x1 Class D subwoofer amp.
Experience anyone?
Next, I have to figure where to mount an amp that's 27" long!
Thanks,
Brian

I would check and see what the actual RMS wattage is. More than likely the 1000W X 1 for a sub is a maximum output measurement, not a real life wattage. You want to use the continuous rating(RMS) in wattage when matching speakers to amps. If the amp puts out 75 watts continuous (RMS) x 4 @ 4 ohms, that is a lot of power, and you better have some good quality speakers. My amp is rated at 65RMS x 4, and I have the level on the amp turned down, because it is too much for my Sony Xplodes. Not that Sony's are that great of a speaker, but they are supposed to be able to handle a continuous load of about 60 watts RMS.
Your best bet is to go to the12volt.com and ask some questions. There are some true experts there. That's how I set up mine, and I am very happy!!!

Hi Justin, believe it or not, the sub channel is rated at 1000w @1ohm, 600w @2ohms, 300w @4ohms. These are RMS, continuous power ratings. Nice stuff.
I just posted on the12volt.com, so we'll see what those folks have to say. They are mostly car audio guys, so a boat application will be a different animal than they are used to.
If you're interested in following it, see:

On a side note, I have Poly Planar 6900 6x9's, and these are questionably rated at 400w. My guess is that this is maximum power ratings FOR THE PAIR, and are probably closer to 100w RMS each.
Does anyone know any different?
Thanks,
Brian

These guys are difinitely car audio guys, but a lot of them understand how much us boat guys lose to the open air. There are also a lot of techy guys in there that really know there sh%t. As long as you know what you have...they can tell you what you need! Just get ready to spend some dough. That sight has cost me about $650 already, but my stereo sounds awesome now! Well worth it.
