Default Aeromotive fuel pump A1000 same as paxton?

Lookin at a blue Paxton fuel pump and have been told it'she same as aero 1000. Will it and or the aeromotive work with carb? When a regulator says it controls between 5 and 20 psi can it handle much higher pressure of a fuel inj pump and bring it down ? I am a little concerned that these pumps make 45-60 PSI and are used for carbs,,is there a limit to what a good(aeromotive) reg can control? Thanks for putting up with my ignorance)

Aermotive makes a regulator for that pump that is adjustable I have used them and set them to 7 psi they are very easy to use and work great but you will need a return line from the regulator for excess fuel.
