Pressure gauge off the raw water pump?
I know we've all visited this topic many times, but I don't remember ever seeing this question -
I'm reinstalling my motors (HP500 carbs) and noticed plugs directly on the the inlet and outlet of the raw water pump. Would the plug on the outlet side be a good place to get water pressure for my gauges? Do you think there would be too much turbulence from the pump?
Thanks, Jeff

Taking a pressure reading there may be a reliable indication of pressure but not the pressure reading you want. Measuring at the pump would possibly show higher than block pressure readings as the gauge will see restrictions in the plumbing system. Just measure it at the block drain plug as this is the pressure your intake manifold and head gaskets see.

I HAVE MINE AT WATER CROSS OVER. INTAKE & CROSS OVER ARE THE BEST PLACE TO PUT THEM. NO CHANCE OF DIRT & SAND PLUGING THEM UP.I HAD A STAINLESS FEMALE FITTING WELDED INTO CROSS OVER IS WHERE I HOOK INTO.
