TrimTabs Question
I am planning to add a pair of trim tabs to a 22´Scarab (K-plane style from Eddie Marine).
Are there any considerations about the tab size other than leverage and cost, like not exceeding a certain size tab for a given boat length?
Thanks for any input

Depending on the power, and where you boat. ie lake boat vs Ocean. And what your expectations of the tabs are, if they are to help get up on plane then a small set should help, but if you are trying to balance a load or correct chine walk then I would go to a k-280 size. My o2

I have the 280's on my 24 Superboat. They make a world of difference when riding in rough water.
I think I remember reading somewhere that they are not recommended on any boat under 21 foot.

280's should be fine but you can also take a look at Mercs smaller more compact desgn that they have. It may save you some room in the boat and also be a easier mount. Unfortunatly I do not remember what they were called but I saw them in a 22 foot Scarab

For a 22 ft boat 280's are overkill. Bennet's will work beautifully on your boat and save you a ton of money. You might consider the dual ram Bennet's but the singles would really do fine. I use 280's but my boat is 10,000 lbs and 36ft. I do not believe you need that much tab in a 22ft boat.
You will enjoy the tabs in rough water.
