Question Hp500 Intake

Hey guys, on the Dart intake on the Hp500, does anybody have a picture they could post of the back where the grommet/pvc valve/hose area is? What i'm curious about is does this hose hook up to a port at the top of the intake manifold?

Got my manifold today and all it has is a hole in the back. I'm assuming there is some kind of pvc valve assembly, but don't know what it looks like.

Thanks.!

Hey Madmax,
What are you bolting that intake to? A new set of those Edelbrock aluminum heads?
I put the MPI back on my engine for now, but I have a used Oval port Dart Intake and a 750carb sitting on the shelf if the MPI doesn't work out...

Yes it does. Merc pulls the PCV thru the valley of the intake instead of the valve covers. Make sure you have the splash tray under the intake. The HP 500 I bought from a "reputable" builder left the tray out & I sucked/ used oil like crazy.

PCV valve in the intake valley.

Runs to a port just under the carb mounting flange.

Thanks guys, that's kinda what I figured, just wanted to make sure. Guess a trip to the dealer is in my future for some parts.!

PAT:

Long time no hear. I bought a used HP500 that had the fuel injection taken off, so i'm going carbed with it. Haven't had any problems finding the big items, but it's the lil items that'll kill ya.! Hope to have it in the boat this summer, but i'm not in a rush, I may run the old motor 1 more season. 500 ponies in a 23' boat should make for a fun ride.! If nothing else it should sound mean as hell........

thanks again guys.!
