Exhaust ?'s for 330HP Merc.
I currently have thru hull exhaust (Stock setup, with a 3in riser) and in the process of switching to teagues switchable mufflers. When I installed the mufflers, I need to remove the 3 in spacer between the riser and the manifold so the mufflers are lined up with the stock riser. My ? is that By removing the 3in spacer, will I have any problems in performance, reversion, or anything else? Thanks, Dennis.

There are specs in Mercruiser (and other) manuals about the required drop or "fall" in the exhaust hose from the elbow to the thru transom.
Have AT LEAST that amount of drop or you WILL have water reversion even at shut down after idling the eginves.
BEEN THERE/DONE THAT--cost was two engines siezed and trahsed because the "mechanic" didn't follow manual and I didn't know enough to double and triple check the A$$hole--
