Default On board battey charger fire

Plugged into the shore power tonight in the slip and the thing started smoking then a little flame came out of the top by the fan

I wonder what caused it ?? It has been plugged up at the house

i figured its toast but what caused it and why did it not throw a breaker

I saw FLAMES Not good

It'll only blow the breaker if it's pulling more than 15 or 20 amps. Things can short out, over heat and catch on fire with less than 15 amps. That's proably what happened.
