unmuffled tips
How much louder are unmuffled tips on a wet exhaust compared to muffled tips. Are they so loud that you have to yell in the boat at idle to talk? Never really heard one because there are not many performance boats in my area. Any help would be great Thanks

Too many variables to say. Just suffice it to say that un-muffled tips will drive you nuts in no wake zones. Look into the Drew Shotgun tips or a switchable tip if you want open at speed. I like the Teague switchable tips but there are others.

It depends on the engine, swim platform, and where the tips are located in relation to the water.
My 24 Outlaw with a 454 mag and Imco exhaust with straight tips was quieter than my 28 Pantera with a 525SC and shotguns mufflers.
The Outlaw had a fiberglass swim platform and the tips were about an inch above the water at idle.
The Pantera has a tubular platform and the tips are about 4 inches above the water. You had to yell to talk at idle before I added the Shotguns.
