Panic Button

I been to about 5 different Merc related sites trying to find info on my engine. It's a 7.4L with a Bravo 1, sn 0B653xxx, that came in a '89 boat. One site says it's a 454 Mag with a Bravo drive, another says it an '87 454 Mag with an Alpha, one says it's and '87 454/330hp, etc. I'd like to get the straight scoop, I've emailed Merc 2 weeks ago, but have yet to get a return.

Mercury Parts Express lists it as:

MERCRUISER (PRE-PROD 454 MAGNUM W/ 300 MDL)
Serial Number: 0B653916 Model Number: 03001347

Doesn't show it as having any particular drive, just that it was a pre-production version, not sure what a 300 MDL is unless that describes the drive that came with it?
Mercury parts express has always been accurate for me, it's the same as the dealers micro-fiche I believe.

OB653916 is designated as a 454 Mag With Alpha one outdrive manufactured years 1986 -1988. 330HP, 1:32:1 final drive. Rochester carb. Bravo available in 88 yours must have been an overstock at the time of vessel completion. Since you now have a Bravo on it, your golden.
