Cam shaft help needed
454 Mag's 365 hp. The engine serial # oc523393, camshaft part# 431-9830 no longer available from mercruiser. The other engine runs fine and really dont want to mis-match. Does anyone have the specs on this cam or any ideas?

Cig 1998,
The 431-9830 cam is still available through GM dealers as part #14096209. GM rates this cam as 220*/220* @.050 .500/.500 LSA115, while other sources rate it 224*/224* @.050 .510/.510 LSA 115.5. Either way it's the same cam. They have a version of this cam ground +5* as part# 10185060. Both part #s are still active @ Scoggin-Dickey.

Re: Cam shaft help needed
Thanks for the info. When you say 220/220 this is the duration and the lift is 500 ?
And what does cam ground +5 mean? Stan.

Cig1998,
Yes on the duration and lift. The 14096209 cam has an intake lobe centerline of 114* ATDC and the 10185060 has an ICL of 109* ATDC making the cam 5* advanced.

Re: Cam shaft help needed
Bob, Thanks for the help! I just ordered the cam and will take several days. Hopefully by Friday. Had an oil pressure problem last weekend and tore apart the engine. Fortunetly I caught the psi problem fast enough. Only spun 1 rod bearing and the journals may have to be cut to a minimum. Hopefully I'll be back in h20 by the following weekend. Thanks again, Stan.
