Default Kaama Question

undefined
Hi all,
I have a 1983 Scarab II with Kaama surface drives, one with a leaky boot.
I'm not sure where to find a replacement. The drive is already off (thanks to three broken bolts!) and would rather just get a new one instead of repairing it. Any suggestions. I have been searching the internet all day and can't find anything!

Thanks in advance
BB04

Find CUDA on the board. He has a Formula with surface drives and knows a ton about them.

BBO4 hi there! You will have to call Team Archer Marine 949-646-9778 they supply them when they have them, they might be back logged. I now Cuda was waiting for some.

I repaired one about 4 years years ago, and it has been working great. Don't fret if you have to go this route. Archer is the only one I know of that makes the replacement.

You need to look at a couple different forums and you will get well aquainted with all things KAAMA. The Formula forum probably has the most info on KAAMA surface drives because Formula offered the drive package on a number of different boat models. F302 KAAMA, F402 KAAMA, F311 KAAMA, and F357 KAAMA. Do a search on member 'Cuda'. He has a 1985 F302 KAAMA that he recently posted a picture by picture rebuild of the KAAMA drives and boots. Kaamacat also helped me with his blow by blow rebuild instructions on the hydralic rams including the part numbers for the seals so I could get them through a local bearing and seal company. I think it was Kaamacat that sent me the service and maintenance manual for Kaama drives as well. There is a lot of info on Offshore Only. Most of us with KAAMA's have been through something that we can share and help others with. Post a pic of your Scarab!

I have a 1988 FORMULA SR311 with KAMA surface drives and one of the hydraulic rams that raises and lowers the drive has blown the seal and fluid is running out and down the drive. I would like to replace this one or repair both of them since the seal on the other one does not look any better but for now is holding, can you help me. thank-you DAVID at [email protected]

Do you know where to get a boot? No leaks right now, but I'd like to keep a spare. Any Kaama housings? Again, just for a spare.
