Upholstered Dash?
Looking at some of the older Apaches, particularly race boats, they seem to typically have the dash covered with upholstery that matches the bolsters. do thes boats have vinyl just glued to the dash, or is it all padded with foam?
The interior of my boat was painted a long way back, and it is showing it's age. I'm debating if I would want to cover the dash with marine vinyl, and wondering what the pros and cons are in doing that.
The other option would be to repair the small cracks in the corners of the cockpit and gut the interior to repaint it.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

Re: Upholstered Dash?
I considered doing the same thing. I was told that upholestry (sp?) glue can be bought at any good fabric store/outlet. Put good synthetic fabric (closed cell foam?) behind it and WHAMMO, padded dash.
I'm told that some of these glues are very durable.
