Blower on 24 Eliminator
I have a 24 Eliminator Daytona that I am getting ready to through Lightning Headers on. The engine is currently built to the following specs;
Mark V 454 std block (steel crank, dimple rods...)
J/E forged pistons (9.8 to 1)
ISKY roller Cam (RR-275/284 hyd roller, adv 275*/284* @ .05, 228*/238*, .553"?.578, 108ICL, 114LSA)
Roller lifters and rockers
Std Square prt GM iron heads
Harding Dart copy intake
Mercruiser 500HP 800 holley carb
Holley marine elec fuel pump.
I am looking at installing a blower in the future and have gone through a number of excellent threads on the subject.
My question is in regards to my compression. Can I keep the current pistons (9.8 to 1) and run a blower. I'm thinking the answer is no but I want to confirm this and get a recommendation on what I should do.
Any other suggestions with my current build outside the current compression? Carb, cam...?
Thanks as always for the input from the forum.

Re: Blower on 24 Eliminator
Compression's really too high for a blower on pump gas,the lightnings shouldn't have any reversion problem with your cam (i'm running almost identical cam with .050 more lift. On a side note,i didn't pickup any topend w/lightnings on my blower motor but did gain midrange,Smitty
Please post your gain w/headers,i'm real curious (i was expecting 400-600 rpm's like they claim)
