Default Thermostat and Winterizing 494?

I have 2002 496's with closed cooling. Do you have to warm these motors up to open the thermostat like you had to do with the 454's/502's before running the antifreeze through?

Last year I changed the oil and ran the antifreeze through all in the same day, so they were already warm. This year, I changed the oil last weekend and I will have to warm the motors up again if it is necessary.

Default Re: Thermostat and Winterizing 494?

Ok, thanks. I used the blue pump and pumped the water out. Then I put the muffs on and ran 4 gallons of antifreeze through each motor.

I figured that I would ask now, rather than be sorry in the spring!

Thanks again.
