Arneson conversion for 388 Slingshot
I am thinking about making the change on my boat. Has anyone done this? I have seen them on new boats from the factory, but I would like to talk to someone that made the conversion if possible. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dean

Re: Arneson conversion for 388 Slingshot
There was an article in powerboat magazine where there was a guy that installed the Arneson replacement for the bravo outdrives. The conversion kit came with a standoff box to accomodate the transmission.. The reviews were all positive. Plus they couldn't break the drive... Lofty knows the guy that did the conversion... PM him for some details.

Call Rik at Arneson 415-485-0788 He may be able to give you contacts on your actual
Boat.
Steve Seaton rigged a Formula he may be of some help also.
925-389-6345
Try Chip fendt at Hustler. You may have to leave several hundread messages
but once you get him, I'm sure he can shed some light also.
Good Luck on your project.
I would like to here the progress and results.

Seaton's the guy who did the Formula in PB mag. He's rigging another Cig w/Arnisons now. He's got allot of experience with the conversion.
Rick will be a wealth of info, get ready for a schooling on drives and props.
For the money you just can't beat the set up. I don't know why more people don't do it.

Thanks for the additional info. I've only heard good things about them. Does anyone know if they have a website?

Checked out the website. Thanks.
I would still like to talk to someone that has made the conversion to a Slingshot if at all possible.
I really apprecriate all the feedback guys.
I will let you know if/when I decide to make the change.
