Bravo Inner Transom Template
Can someone make a template of the inner bravo transom plate? I just need something etched on construction paper that I can transfer to a wood template to help me with the transom. I need the outer edge, bolt holes, and the inside through areas. I do not have any transom parts other than the original trs that I am replacing. I will pay for cost of material, labor, and shipping.
thanks
Steven
Also has anyone ever moved their transom back about 12 inches like an extension box? If the transom is off would it be difficult to fabricate?

I suggest you purchase a Bravo Transom Template. Hole location is critical. It is not a lot of money and are easily sold after use. Makes for a successful installation.

RLW,
Did it have the outline for the inner transom plate? That is what I need right now. Or did it just have the cutout template?

Re: Bravo Inner Transom Template
I bought one and never used it. Never had it out of the box and resold it. I don't believe that it had an Inner Transom layout as the template is for drilling and cutting the transom from the outside of the boat. The inner gets installed where it belongs as dictated by the template.
Trust me, you do not want to try to cut corners when doing this job.
You want to establish your "X" dimension where you need it. The motor will have to be moved to accomodate the new drive and location. Motor mounts closer to the transom. This is your chance to optimize the performance of your boat. TRS drives were always located deep (low X) due to the lack of prop selection and prop technology at the time.
Have you considered a Konrad?

Re: Bravo Inner Transom Template
Konrads are too much money for the older boat I am rebuilding. It is a 1979 255 Liberator. If it were 35+ feet and a lot newer i would consider konrad drives. i am wanting the template to see if I can move part of the transom out about twelve inches like an extension box. but I need to see how much room I will need for the inner plate and motor. I will definately get the template before I cut anything. I will also need to get my x, y and z dimensions for two drives going back in. i am in the planning stages right now.
Thanks

Re: Bravo Inner Transom Template
Hey Guys,
I have a Transom plate hanging on my wall, and a paper template for a Bravo one transom assem. pattern, be happy to make copies at cost & postage.
I need to cut a fresh stern, been looking for the drill/cut jig - anyone know where to get them.
Contact me at [email protected] or give me a call 207-549-4795 est.
