Blown 509 head recommendations
I want to upgrade the heads on my engine.
Currently running stock rec ports with inconel exh valves.
Setup now is 509ci,8.75 compression,hyd. flat tappet cam, B&M 250 blower(6lbs boost),Nickerson preped dominator,gil exhaust.
Consideringart iron eagle,Merlin(iron) and Edelbrock aluminum.
What do you guys think?
Of course I'm looking for the most bang for the buck. The eldebrocks seem like a good deal, anyone have any experience running them with a little blower?
Any one have flow spec for the iron eagles or merlins?(310-320 runners)
Thanks,Jeff

if your using a 502 block with angler shape water pasages at the head and , youal probabuly keep blowing gaskets.. if you have round water passages,,i think your ok.... blocks with anguler passages dont like blowers.

Re: Blown 509 head recommendations
Thanks for the replys.
50boat, I'm using cometic gaskets and am not having sealing issues.I'm looking for new head recommendations.
I boat in salt water so if I go aluminum they will need to be hard anodized.
Who sells canfields or brodix hard anodized with inconel valves in them already and what do they cost?
I dont want to spend $2500 on a set of heads.
I was looking at the Edelbrocks because for about $1400 you get the inconel valves and anodizing,I know I'm gonna have to add springs, retainers, etc. to them.
I'm still looking for flow #'s to plug into desktop dyno.
My goal here is somewhere in the 600-650 hp range, gotta keep it somewhat tame for the family
Thanks

Brodix will upgrade you to Manley Inconel and they should run about $2200 fully assembled ready to bolt on. The website has all the flow numbers listed at Brodix.com
Good Luck!
