7.4 L29 to 502 mag mpi swap
Hi guys.
I'm currently going thru this swap.
Have freshened 502 Mag MPI with CMI exhaust and Mark from Precision's 500HP combo. (Cam,valves, rockers, springs, intake mod, pistons, balance, blueprint, computor work)
I will be adding corsa diverters with ggb mufflers.
This is going into a 1998 Mirage23.7 hull.
The drive I will be beefing up as well. Looking to go from 50 MPH to around 65 MPH. I plan on propping about 5300 rpm.
Main question is what does the 7.4 mpi sepentine engine use for a fuel delivery system?
Will this support the 500 HP 502?
What else should I be looking for?
I will be using the 502's coupler and fresh water cooling.
Any suggestions from the knowledgeable crew on here will be super appreciated!

Re: 7.4 L29 to 502 mag mpi swap
Whenever I want to compare parts from different motors, I go to BAM's website and check for the same part # for interchangabilty. The 7.4 and 502 share alot of stuff. Pump is not in the tank, but down near the oil pan opposite starter.

just checked a '98 7.4 and 502. Both use same fuel pump.

Re: 7.4 L29 to 502 mag mpi swap
Last year I went from a 7.4mpi to an HP500 carb.
The mpi pumps are all on the motor! You should be able to just swap them out and it should work!
Take care,
Kent

Great site to look up parts and schematics.
Thanks U.S. Fountain.
Now i have figured out why I cannot find the pump, the 502 had a procharger on it and the pump is not there!
Neither is the fuel regulator.
I guess I will just take those pieces off the 7.4.
Thanks again guys.
