5 Blade Prop Question?
Need to get a prop for my newly powered boat, 97' Daytona 27 Twin 650 hp. What are the design differences between the Herring, Hydromotive and Mercury 5 Blades? Which is the highest quality? Which lifts the transom the least? Need some ideas, Thanks Eric

Call Julie at Throttle Up. She can answer any question concerning props. I am getting a set of Hydromotives PX-5 from her. She seemed to like them best for my boat.

I know Julie and Matt have a great reputation, but we all know that there will be a given bias to the product they sell. I have no doubt about their sincerity or knowledge, I would like to here first some opinions without this influence. Eric

Re: 5 Blade Prop Question?
Julie and Matt put a prop on my boat dialed me right in. I didn't care what prop the set up for me as long as it did what I wanted it to do. Dealing with pros helps. I have 3 paper weights that I need to sell because I listened to every Tom, Dick & Harry.

Re: 5 Blade Prop Question?
Good ole Bravo 1's are probably your best starting point. Get some data and call Throttle up or Herring. I would guess Herring may be the best prop out there, but the price is also out there! On my boat so far the 30 labbed Bravo has been the best and I am working with Throttle Up to try to find a little more and they have been very fair when it comes to exchanging props that haven't exceeded the Bravo1. Good luck!
