Default #6 Drive Fluid-wet sump

Just bought a boat with vintage 1995 wet sump #6's. What's every one running in these drives for fluid. I've ran Bravo's and XR's for years and have had great luck with Redline shock proof heavy. Is this stuff recommended for the #6's or is it best to stay with the Merc. I believe the previous owner ran Royal Purple.

If you order Merc fluid for a dry sump #6 it is just Torco synthetic. Mercury doesn't even repackage it.

1995 50' Hustler w/trip 1000's out of northern IL. I see your's is back up...awful lot of hardware there for the price. Someone really needs to buy it. The unrigged 50 hull sold just before I called...this one ended up being a better deal anyway...at least I hope.

we've used Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube and noticed a significant increase in free speed movement. in other words when you turned the prop shaft by hand it took less energy to turn. coincidently the boat picked up almost a full mph. may have been luck, either way the Mobil 1 is great stuff.
