We are flying into Vegas and then driving into Havasu

I think this is the latest list. We (a bunch of SCOPE members) are towing in Thursday a.m. and staying through Monday. 4-28 to 5-2. If you are coming from back east, flying into Vegas and driving to Havasu is the way to go. 1-1/2 hr drive. I know ALOT of boats that haven't signed up yet so this list is small compared to who will actually be there. Plus alot of people (including us) just go for the party, not the run. :drink:

Lakeracer llc IS the old AHBA. Art and the rest of the original promoters are doing it again so it should be back to it's original "awesome poker run" status. :D

Ran it last year after we delivered my customers 35 Nordic at the factory.

We had a great time. Nice people, nice weather, fantastic eye candy (Boats & Babes) and a bargain entry fee with lots of goodies.

The sandbar is over the top!!!

Cant make it this year but some buddies with Cigs are thinking of going.

Well, I'll tell you what. We've been going for the last five years and it was getting bigger and bigger and bigger every year. Then last year they started talking about not doing anymore and it scared off some people. This year I've heard of some SERIOUS hardware rollin' out from all over the country. It's gonna be fun.

I took my little 24' outlaw and was racing Cig1 up from Copper canyon when I sucked a valve at 85  :( Anyway, we were sitting there for a while chillin' waiting for a tow in the middle of the lake (narrow portion by steamboat) when 5 BIG cats come around the corner at us at WELL over 100. Gibson was one (MTI), Cats a$$ was another, Double take was one (46 Skater), and there was a couple others that I cant recall the names. Dude, they flew by us at like a buck thirty all running tight. You could feel the horse power in your chest as they screamed past. It was SICK. Almost made it worth it to have been sitting there broken :D :D I remember thinking, "My sucked valve is going to be expensive but breaking one of those 1000 to 1400 hp motors is would require a loan for me!! :D

You should try to make it, it's gonna be a good one I can gaurantee it!

Talking about bringing Maximus.

I WILL NOT mess with Vegas airport unless it is the only way. What about Phoenix, or anything but Vegas Intl.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!

Now, yes you can fly into Phoenix and drive but it's like 2-3 hrs I believe. Vegas isn't that bad! You may be able to fly from Phoenix too. Theres shuttle service to anywhere in havasu from the havasu airport.

I'll look forward to running on...I mean...checking out Maximus! :D :drink:

I go to Havasu a lot.....Vegas is not bad at all and 1/2 the drive. Just set up the rental to pick you up when you land. They are great with that. In, out on the road and in Havasu in 2 hours from when the wheels hit the runway.

I'll check it out. I just got back from Vegas and had forgotten about the ridiculous lines when you leave. Getting there is fine, leaving is hell.

Yeah I think it would be a blast. I was planning on talking to you about it in Sarasota since you had been before. If Tom can get his boat over there and we can figure out the best way to fly in, it's looking good.

If you guys haven't gotten rooms yet, DO IT NOW! The Nautical Inn is probably already full but you can call Gloria @928-855-3885. There was only two 'regular' rooms left w/the block the poker run reserved and there was a few of the 'captains suites' left. Call quick though.

If that doesn't work try the London Bridge Resort they have docks but if your boat is over 36' the water cops may sweat you for being in the channel  . You can also call the Islander or The Ramada (off the lake across from the London Bridge). If I can help just PM me.

Carney, you'll see alot of the SCOPE guys out there. We'll be pulling in Thursday afternoon with a few boats. I know Nort is always good to get rides from on his Formula. I'll be on a buddies Tiger (green, yellow and purple). If you guys want a ride I'm sure I can arrange it ;) for a fellow OSO brother. Flag us down when you see us. We're staying at the Nautical with a big group of people/boats.

I think we'll be over at the launch ramp on Thursday night getting Mike Bobbits 40' Skater in the water. That would be the boat to get a ride on 1400's!! :drink:

Looking forward to seeing all the East Coast boats. You guys put us to shame with some serious hardware!

We still do it right on the West Side! I'll be watching in my tiny 28' Nordic with a measly 415HP.

Everyone have a safe trip out!
