Default Fiberglass fairing project

I'm finished with my paper templete and now I need to make a more rigid backing that I can lay glass over. What would good cheap material? I was thinking about 4mm nida-core but the nida-core guy told me I had to glass both sides of it... I'd rather not if I didn't have to.
