Default 496 Procharger

A buddy of mine is thinking of buying a new boat with a 496. The dealer is a Procharger dealer as well. He want to add a procharger to the boat with 3.5LBS of boost and make 560HP. Questions>>> Has anyone done this? How reliable is it for the long run?? Will it make it 3 years???

Thanks for the advice. I have little experience with the 496.

The stock fuel system will not work, neither on 3 nor on 5 PSI

A friend of mine has put a Procharger to a 496 HO in a Baja 272

He changed the fuel system and the drives to XR
You can find test results here (all speed in knots)

http://www.vibatagare.com/vib2002/vi...4_vib8_02.html

Its hard to read but you will understand the test results

But he says If Raylars Parts would have been available in 2002 - he would choose them

http://www.raylarengine.com

Up to 600 HP without a blower from any 496

.
It might make it for 3 years if you upgrade the pistons at least and do not run WOT for longer periods
