Default Cheap 29 Outlaw from Dealer!

I've been looking at new 23 Outlaws and went to a dealer. Priced out with 496 HO we're looking at $70K! Way too much. So I told him to keep his eyes open for something used, may a 24/25 Outlaw.

He calls me today and says he's getting a 2001 29 SST with 7.4 mags. 150 hours, sold new through same dealer, super clean boat. I said I'd love a 29 but was looking for more economical single engine boat. He says it will probably be priced in the $50K's! I told him to call me as soon as it comes in. I'm thinking this is very cheap, no?

I have a brand new 2500 4X4 Avalanche with 8.1 so towing should be no problem. I have room for storage at my house (have to build a cover though) and may be able to keep it on the dealers showroom (they would like a nice show piece)! I could swing the purchase price, just wondering how much more operating costs would be over a single engine 24' boat?

it is not cheap but I don't think it is bad... it all depends on what you think is bad! To cruise around on a Sat. or Sun. not beating it you are looking at around $60-100 in gas. (Mine has 454mags) To do a Poker Run running around a 100 miles you will use about 100 gallons(+/-).....

Hey guys...Travis here at Watersports. Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in! A 23 OL should not be powered with the HO...375HP is plenty for that boat. You might as well buy the 25 OL!! The 29 OL does sound like a great deal I would make sure that the 7.4 mags are the 454mags(385HP) and not the the 7.4 mpi(310HP). Lots of horse power difference...but even if it did have twin 310's in the back it would still be a good deal and a good ride...Good luck!!

Travis is right and maybe being a little policially correct. I would never buy one with the 310hp motors and resale would kill you later.

Thanks. The dealer sold the boat new so they have the records. The guy hasn't brought it in yet so I'm stil waiting. They did leave me a message that they are getting in a 23 Outlaw this week. It is painted like the Hummer of a Summer tour 23 and has a 496 mag. He said priced in high $60K's. Still seems too much to me. There are too many nice used boats (like the 29) around for way less money. Brand new is very tempting but after a year or two it won't be new any more and the value will be way down. I may take it out for a test drive though (the dealer sales rep wants to too) !

Holly Schmolly! I just checked out this 29 Outlaw on Ebay. If I really was looking for a 29 I'd be all over this thing. It looks super clean and has all the good stuff. Having just sold my 28 Cigarette, I really want a 24/25 single engine boat.

My dealer sent me an email yesterday, the 29 sold in private sale before it got traded in. He didn't say how much it went for.

I really want a single engine 25 Outlaw anyway.
