302 speed with 6.2's
I have A 2002 302 with 6.2's running 24p Bravo one props.I am getting 61 MPH on GPS @ 5100 RPM(2 ADULT 2 KIDS 1/4 FUEL). This seems a little slow (2-3 mph?) Does any body have any clue what it should run?
or if there are any perf tricks I can do to get it to run faster without new rigging or blowers? Remember you can't get into the computer on this MPI system. Any ideads would be helpfull
Thanks Dave

You have to factor bravo one props one pitch under when calculating prop slip. Your running 18% which is too high. Call julie at throttle up and she can help you get the slip % down and increase speed.

Sorry, I gave you guys wrong info, looking at the boat today in the garage and looked at the props they are 19p MIRAGE PLUS. If I want more top end / speed and I am not puling full RPM now, will going to a 21 MP Put me lower in the rpm/ torque cure and cause more strain on the motors?
How much speed can I get by changing props??
Sorry for all the questions, New to performance boating, and a dumb question is one thats not asked.
Thanks again

I would first try some 23 pitch mirage plus, you always want to have as much pitch as your motors will turn, and then lab finish them from there. 3 blade props are typicaly faster than four blades so you might even see some small gains on top end just by switching to 3 blades, but i agree with bajarunner, call throttleup, they can help you more than anyone else.

I would say those speeds sound about right. THe baja's aren't the most effecient hulls ou there and the 302 is alot of boat for small blocks. You could probably pick up a couple by labbing the props other than that it is going to get expensive.
