29 Outlaw Owners Opinion
O.K. guy's and gal's. I'm on my 2nd Powerquest and can't say enough about the boats other then they currently are out of business. I'm looking to move up to a 29-30 range and have always liked the 29 Outlaw. Just want to get some feedback from you owners as to the good and bad. I'll be running it on Lake Michigan so the ride quality is very important. Also I noted both twin and single setups in this hull. Was very surprised to see a single in a 29. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Re: 29 Outlaw Owners Opinion
I had 2 of them.
Took both of them up to Lake Superior,
they did very good up there.
Ran them at LOTO many times.....did
fine down there too.
My only complaint about the boat is the rear
cleat placement.....it's kind of hard to keep a
bumper from getting squished out toward the rear,
when tied up to another boat.
The 29 singles are real popular at LOTO,
mainly for the ride.

Re: 29 Outlaw Owners Opinion
Fast forward,
I moved up this season from a 25 OL to a 29 OL and couldn't be happier with the ride and performance. It handles rough water very well. I boat on Lake Erie quite often and it has seen some pretty rough stuff a few times and it feels very solid. I have twin 496 Ho's in mine and love them. I will tell you that while looking for this boat I found a couple 29's with singles and the re-sale was terrible. I didn't see any of them with big power single set ups, but 1 would seem under powered to me now that I have owned one. Just my $0.02
Good luck!

We have a 2000 29 we bought new in 01 and have not had any problems. 454 mag EFIs, 600 + hours. Had to do drive couplers at about 400 hrs. The rear cleat location sucks for sure. Been to every shootout since we got the boat and if it can handle LOTO it should be able to hang about anywhere.

When I bought my 24 OL in '97, the dealer had a 29 with the same paint scheme as mine with some BIG power. the son of the owner af Baja (before Baja was sold to Brunswick) came out and ran it here. I fell in love with that boat immediately. Just couldn't afford it at the time. Awesome boat with great lines. The 24 degree hull cuts deep through the snot. good riding boat for sure.
The 29 Outlaw is a bad mo-fo! I wouldn't recommend getting it with single engine though. Reliablility and speed are the main reasons I'd go with twins.

I had a good friend with one,a 2000 w/454 base motors. Boat rode good and had alot of room, was under powered though. Avoid the singles and 310 hp twin models unless your looking strictly for ride and don't care about speed (or re-sale),Smitty

Thanks Guys you've a great help. I love the lines on the outlaw (the older ones) Can't say much about the new ones. Is it just me or did they go in reverse on the style. They've gone back to the sharp lines??? I like the looks of the older ones much better.

Get a late 90's 33' and you will save your time selling a 29 b-cause after a year the 33 or even the 36 will be very tempting. I had a 24 OL and a 29 and then a 29' Fountain. I am about to cut off my beak...maybe for a 36. mainly for a stable safe ride at LOTO.

It is not just you. I have been looking and loooking nad looking at the 29 and the 30 OL. Was sooooo close to getting a 30 cause it is the newer model, but it just does not look as good to me as the 29. I prefer the 29's rounded out look vs. the 30's sharp choppy look with head rest no the bench. Plus, I llike the setup in the 29. Not knocking any 30's out there, just my personal opinion and taste. To each is own.......
