if any of you think this is a horrible idea, please don't hesitate.

92' baja 270. Great shape. upgraded from a 19' maxum bowrider. aaaaaanyway....

we have 2 boys, 9 and 11. we'd like to put a camper canvas on during the few times we might stay overnight or if we go out and it might be inclimate weather. I was thinking of something that i could just barely stand up in, that would go over to the end of the pad covering the engine. This way, the boys could sleep there OUTSIDE of the cabin. We generally tie up at a beach with friends, and would stay out overnight a handful of times throughout the summer.

So does anyone have one for sale that would fit it?

Just buy a big tent and cut it to fit around the cockpit of your boat. I knew a guy that paid over 4K for a custom fitted one for the back of his boat and never once actually used it. It was test fitted and then put back in the bag never to see daylight again. Be cautious of fumes is you are using a generator aboard or even the next boat over since the tent/ canvas enclosure will reduce airflow and trap fumes.

hmmm...you know...i never thought of that. Cut it around the edge and install the snaps myself to go where the mooring cover now snaps too. That certainly would save a TON of $. Wife has a sewing machine to stick the cut edge too.
