29 Baja Outlaw SST

New (To me) 29 Outlaw!
Just put down a deposit on a 29 OL SST. It's a one owner '98 with 150 hours and very clean. Consignment sale through local dealer. They are prepping it for a sea trial tomorrow. Hope it's windy on the lake so we have some waves.

Sweet! I love my 29! Get yourself some quik pin cleats. They make keeping fenders/bumpers where they need to be easy.
Let us know how it does. What kind of power? More pictures?

7.4 MPI's, B1s. Dealer says 310 HP at the props. Are they 330 or 385 in 98?

Very nice boat, Jason. Like the external steering and the Imco's. Are your motors stock or modified? What are you running for props? What kind of speed do you run?
The aluminum swim step sure dresses it up. Mine has the fiberglass one and looks pretty plain. I think I'll have to change it over.

Your motors are 310 at the prop.
Mine were stock, but I'm Whippling them & re-camming them along with some other trick stuff. I'll have 650 HP a side. I think I'll be spinning 32" propellers.
I was spinning 26" 4 blade bravo 1 propellers @ 73 mph, as a best speed. I usually ran about 71 GPS.
I forget who makes the swim platforms for Baja, but they are available here on OSO.

Wow, good speeds! Mine has 23 Mirages on it and I guessed low to mid 60's. Think it will pull more? How does yours pull out of the hole with the 26's?
I'll probably have to do some performance upgrades as I can't leave anything alone! I'll try to resist the temptation for a little while until I get used to the boat.
Been looking at your photos, the boat looks great. Love those in water shots.

The last I heard, you were talking about selling a 25 Outlaw and getting out of boating. Funny how that stuff goes, isn't it? Congrats on the new boat, you will love it. I know I like mine!
