So would you recommend this boat set up this way to anyone else. Seems to me the $/mph may not be too good. You mentioned yourself about getting a faster hull. I like the boats and was thinking of a similar set up but ordering a 26 with the 375hp motor and pulling it immediatly and swaping it with a Raylar 625hp. I think that may be substantially cheaper than a 600 sci.

First day on LKN was the LKN Poker Run. Happen to run across you guys for the last three stages. Tagged along in the back. Saw your boat along with Dock's. Only recognized your boats from the photos on here. They look awesome!!

Your boat looks great! Congrats on that rocket! See you this summer!

I would recommend the 600sci any day. But you can get so much more speed out of other hulls.

The raylar plan sounds like a good one for the money. But I wouldn't do a new 26 if you are going to yank the motor and tweak. There are so many great deals out there right now on used boats, I would shoot for a used 26 if you can find one, or a newer 25.

New 26 with a 600 is pretty pricey, but that is all motor of course.
My situation worked out well in the end- net motor cost equated to only a 525efi upgrade, but I also had to go through hell with Baja which spoiled much of the excitement of getting a new boat.

glad to hear things worked out, so what prop are you using now , a 28 b1? my 26 b1 at 6000rpm I hit 83,2 gps with about 50 to 75 gals. going to try a labbed 30 get the rpms down to 5400 to 5600. it sounded great at 5800 to 6000 but, parts will last longer at lower rpm, the 2'' shortie helped me a lot and wild card likes the box with the 3''. so what wheel you running.

Running a labbed 30 from bblades now.

The boat came with a labbed 28 B1. (didn't order the labbed prop).
Poor bow lift and no top end, would be on the rev limiter with very little trim added. Was pretty sure it would spin a 30 so I got one. Turned out to be a little too much prop.

Borrowed a regular 28 and that worked pretty well - had more bite and bow lift. Considered buying one, but since I had already purchased the 30, I sent it (the 30) to bblades to lab. It helped. Maybe 100-150 rpm down from the reg28 but better speed. It could be tweaked further,
but for now it's fine.
