I'm spinning labbed 28's by merc racing with 496 Mags at 4750rpms the 302 is very similar to the 29OL in hull design. I don't see why you think these are incorrect props?

This is a no-brainer. If you are banging the rev limiters on 26" wheels that are non-labbed then 28" wheels are the way to go. Personally, I'd call Brett @ bblades. He did my 30's for me & did them quick! And for less money than the other places! Plus, he has a "loaner" program that allows you to try before you buy.
I tried him & am VERY impressed with his work! I will order more propellers from him without hessitation.
He was trained by the best in the business & just plain is faster than anyone else!

IT I'm not saying they are but everyone I have talked to with stock 496's can't turn 28's, they end up with labbed 26's.

My only problem with labbed props is that a lot of the places we dock around here are in shallow water. Props will get nicked up more than once. Have always heard that with labbed props this can't be repaired and you end up with cracked blades. Guess I need to call Throttle Up or BBlades and see what they have to say.

Actually the Bravo Ones run about an 1" smaller in pitch than marked so a Hydro 27 might be about right. Would love to find a set of either 26 or 27 QIV-X to try out but I don't know of anyone around here running them.

Are the 26s yours or a loaner set?

What do these cost new? Somewhere around $500 ea I'm guessing. Not sure I'd want to eat a 10% restocking fee if they didn't work. Something to think about though. Thanks for the info.

I have 26p Mercury racing labbed Bravo 4 blades that I run for rough water, but I run about 3 mph faster with a set of 3 blade 27p labbed mirages. I can blow them out pretty easy if I stand on it out of the hole, but if I take it easy until I get on plane they really run good. I am running 496 HO's in a 2001 29 OL. and have seen 77 on GPS at about 5000 rpm's. Hope that helps! If you come to Ohio I will let you try them.

How fast are you turning the mirages? Wonder if I could turn a set of stock 27s 4800. Doesn't seem like 25s would be enough prop.
