thanks I will try and get a hold of him this week. I'm not sure on that drive, if one could buy the boat say 8gs then run it for a season then for 3000 to 4500 you could replace it with a used b1 drive. the 460 you could build a little or move that to a jet boat guy.theres all so a 24 banana boat with twin obs for sale for 16000 on the banana site its a friends ex race boat its solid new everything. I WILL HAVE MINE ON THE MARKET NEXT YR I think. I want a 28 joker or my buds 31sutphen which has a blown motor454, I would put to of the 509s in art

Hi Owen106,

I have a 1988 240 Sport that I’m thinking of selling. The boat has a new 502 (kind of new, little over 100 hr.) that was put in 3 years ago by the previous owner. I purchased the boat 2 years ago and have that bug… need a bigger boat bug. The boat is a solid boat. I would need to get $17,000.00 to sell it. PM me if you are interested or have any questions.

Thanks,
Speed

I know someone that was selling a 1989 Baja 240 Sport. It had a race engine in it with a blower and dual quad setup. He was asking $11k for it in July of this summer. It hasn't run in 7 years. He had it stored in his warehouse. It's in south Jersey. Call me if you want more information.

You can find a nice boat for $10K. I sold my 1990 250es for $13K and it's a trouble free boat. Find something with decent stock power and a bravo1

Where are you located?

stock power is boring unless you like to go 60 to 67, I have run between 585 and 670hp na for 12 yrs never broke a drive I bent one valve with the 585 and 11yrs later had a roller rocker stud break and for the time it took to remove a valve cover replace it maybe one hour I was back on the water. you can build 600hp easy these days and be dependable. now blowers thats the un starts, head gaskets, burnt pistons, valves. and with a shorty drive you can pick up more speed I LOVE THE 80 PLUS SPEEDS. art

I had more trouble with my 330hp 454 that came with my boat so after 2yrs I bought a 502 merc , that was a waste of 10,000 I should have started from scratch and built a dart 540 or 572 back then , a 598 will be the next motor a nice 825hp nothing like cubes for power. art
