Default After 6months of talking....I traded up

Well as some of you know I been talking about going bigger. Looked at the 35 Donzi ZR(Which I still do love) It seemed tight. The cockpit and cabin but would do 80+ with 496HO. I also liked the 35OL. I found what I think was a great deal on a 2006 35OL with ho's. Its a 35th aniversary edition with Boss graphics pkg.
Did a quick sea trail and with current labbed rough cut props by Julie at throttle up I hit 74 on GPS.
I did but the boat from a dealer but was introduced to the original owner. He had a set of labbed to the boat Baja cup props.(Which I bought directly from him) He claims they are good for 77 GPS in the spring weather. He said he didnt use them for cruising in that the RPM would be higher in the 50 mph range to use the other rough cut 28 labbed props.
Boat has most options but Mcloud seats. Convience package, fresh water flush, upgraded stereo with subs, Microwave, fridge, GPS speedo with the newer livorsi sticks.
Also the previous owner installed the smart craft display.

I did have to purchase a custom trailer seperate. I think its sweet. It supposed to have electric/hyd brakes but the controller did not come in and the dealer new today I was taking it home. He installed sugr for now and I will get the ele/hyd next week or so.

In my quick tes the boat seems a tad heavy and slower or more mellow than my 29. I guess more smoother for sure. Is was a quick 20-30 min ride. I plan on going out this weekend with the family.
I will be posting. I need 80. His buddy has the same 35 with CMI's and my pre owner claims his was no faster this mine now.
MAybe some ralar 525 kits.......Yike way down the road. I'll be saving pennies for a while.

Dennis

That is one sweet ride! The colors look awsome. You just did what I am wanting to do. (trade to a 35 or 36) I am surprised that they are getting that kind of speed out HO's in the 35's.

Thanks
I agree. Just about as fast as my 29. This is 1200 lbs heavier. The new hual design. It is a tad different. My 29 would get to speed quick. Be running 75 what seemed like right now.
THe 35 at first I trimmed up and was WOT. It was reading 4200RPM. Then about 10 sec later it was near 4700 and running 74 or so. Takes a tad longer to reach speed. maybe I have to get use to being bigger and thats what it takes. I read that in a fountain article before. Let it run take longer for max speed. Just used to my 29...I'll be comparing alot to it.

I love the color scheme. I know what your talking about when you say it feels like your 29 was quicker. When I drive my buddies 29 it feels faster than my 36 but when we run I'm a little faster on top end and start to walk away. Enjoy the new ride it's sweet!
