No the 7.4 are not fast. There was one on Norman that ran 65MPH. However this hull will surprise you and it is very responsive to horsepower and does not take a lot to make an 80 MPH boat out of them.

I used to run around Table Rock with a guy who had 6.2s in a 29 Outlaw. It was a 65-67 mph boat. I would guess that the 454 mpi motors would run about the same given the 6.2 & the 454 MPI are almost the same HP. The 6.2 boats do sit higher in the water due to less weight in the rear.
Actually now that I'm thinking of it, arent the 6.2's 320 hp?
