Unless Baja builds the 08 Poker Run boat different then I have heard it will have twins and it will not run 90 MPH.

You are right about the 850 boat. It was not even close to running the speeds they had hoped. The biggest problem was the drives were buried too deep.

The beautiful 40 built for Fox Chapel with the wild west rattle snake theme with triple 600's will not break 90 MPH.

The 40 is a fantastic boat, it is beautiful and the ride is awesome. But it is just not a fast hull. Personally I wish Baja would introduce a complete NEW boat for next years tour but that is not going to happen. I hear rummors of a 39 to a 41. I'm sure the next big boat will be much faster then the 40 and the 36 OL's were.

Keep up the good work Baja!

They will not step a boat again.......Not anytime soon at least.

Though, I would've liked to see the Baja/skater come to life. The original design for the Skater 399. Would've been cool

Tank,
Never say never. I spoke with them and there is some interest in the stepped design. I dont think a quad setup but a 2 step like pictured above. Dont think it will be possible for next years boat. Only chance it would be is for the 40(or the new 38-41??) and maybe the 35. Just what I heard.

I'm just going off history. I don't have my finger on the Baja pulse like some of you on here do but the past two examples where they tried for twin step, they didn't pursue it.

1) the 420 stepped baja w/trip 800s.
This could've been the platform for a large stepped hull for
them. But they did the one and stopped.
2) The Skater/Baja race boat.
This again could've been the platform to start stepped
larger boats for them but they backed out before the
boat was complete. The boat as we all know, became
the platform for the skater 399 and the first one was
the spiderman race boat that scot conrad raced. I actually
was in that boat at one point and the whole time I could
only think to myself, "Baja f*cked up. This thing is sick!"

If Baja is going to use a 40 and be in the
same ballpark as the last two 35's are in,
it needs more than 850's.

IMO three 700's are the only thing
that will bring it to those levels.

If they would put 3 700's and #6 drives on it the could call it full house.................7's over 6's with 6pack seating.

Jason, you can run but you cannot hide!

I am going to push the 35 for a couple more months until the owner decides to paint the boat. After paint will come some cleavers, then hopefully 100+mph!!!

If it sells we plan on ordering another 35 with 700's, this time cleavers from the factory!

That is ok, I'm to have some tricks up my sleezy sleeves for this winter!
I'll let you in on them. Finish the stereo. I'm done. I proved a point & exceeded my goal of 90 mph.
I'm done spending for now.
Now I'm going into a internet based marine business for something else to occupy my time.
