Tony, what prop did you run, and what ratio did the shorty have?
I´ve just had a 2" 1.5 ratio shorty delivered from Imco. That brings my prop to pad dimension down to 2 1/2" (together with the box). This is maybe a little too ambitious, with the (relatively) mild power I´m running. But you gotta try, haven´t ya?

Lot of upgrades last year, but if I just mention the dash, as an example - additional to the stock gauges, I have -

Digital GPS in the middle (good to be able to cross check against the stock Monster speedo - which is actually quite accurate), Fuel pressure, Motor oil temperature, Drive oil temperature, Exhaust gas Temperature, Raw water pressure. Finally, a Smartcraft SC1000 which gives a digital cross check of all motor functions and fuel consumption rate and fuel used.

i had the same gps speedo worked great with the tell tale , i had 2inch shortie the motor was set up to run about 5,900 we shut it done on the dyno at 5,900 and it was still making power i ran bravo 28 out of the box and labbed 30,s labbed 28,s would spin the motor out of control i took that boat to orange beach to watch the worlds and also keywest 90-91 was easy hammer the throtle it would get there real quik should have kept it longer and taken out the hook the outlaw chines have a hook downward at the end, sand it down and a little glass work should get a little as long as you have real tabs never got to sand my hook to see how it would run.

Sounds like you really know your 25 Outlaws! You are so right. The tabs on the outer strakes have gotta go.

Yeah, the digital speedo means that you can trim out the last tenth of a mile.

I´ve spoken to Whipple, and downloaded the installation manual. Looks like a good way to see 750 HP using a good solid blue internals....but I throw out half the motor, and have to rewire the boat back to analog, to do it.

As I have three people wanting my 525, I may just upgrade to the 600. first I shall see where the shorty takes things.

For a while. ...maybe longer. Is that a non-supercharged kit?

If what i read on Raylar's web page, when he is done rebuilding it, it is a blue motor. Seems it may be a little more dependable than a SC motor. Might not have the same bling factor like the merc motors but not quite the price either. I would thing the Raylar 600HO in a 25 OUTLAW would put it over 80. Add ext kit and shorty with a re-worked prop with big tabs.....????? Nice boat in my opinion.
