The waters were too rough to go and try an all out run again to verify if the 73.9 was luck or not.
I am running the same 26 labbed 4 blade as before except with some additional BBlades tweeking...
These Raylars are everything that the package claims to be and then some....
Ray you build great stuff....thank you!!
Which Raylar kit did you use and are you running aftermarket exhaust?

We are extremely pleased with our Raylars, but I'm now thinking we need to look and see why we're not getting that same increase (10 mph). Honestly, I was thinking that this (5 MPH) was all the more I would gain with this particular set up. I am not complaining, this boat runs excellent, anything more (MPH) is a gift!!!

w/ HO's - 30 Lab Props - 5100 RPM's = 86+ MPH
w/ Raylar's - 32" Lab Props - 5300 RPM's = 91+ MPH

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!if thats a 28 sunny,with a single engine,,then wouldnt 5 mph be about right,,,100 extra h.p.and it takes about 20 h.p. to get a extra m.p.h.???

* Note - our boat(s) were not tested on the same day, so there is a possible variance (same location / fuel / weight).

Baja Man...
The kit I installed was the BCK-103, reprogrammed computer, stock exhaust running through mufflers, straight tips are on order, 89 octane fuel spinning the engine at 5300 rpm as per the computer reflash spec.

Wink No Smoke and Mirrors Here-Just Results!

Nice to hear from a lot of our new satisfied Raylar kit customers . Congrats to Twin-Spins and Verbi69 !!
It should be more obvious to all 496 owners that these are great engines to begin with and with Raylar kit upgrades they can churn out some serious increased performance and reliability!
We now have over 600 happy customers around the world and it should point out to all 496 owners, if you have a Mercruiser 496 and want real performance with reliability on simple 87-89 pump gas then a Raylar kit is the only viable upgrade. If you need more than 525HP on stock exhaust, then just add a good header manifold or header set and the 560-570HP you will see from a Raylar equipped 496 will "GET ER DONE"!!

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Hi Ray, can you provide the header as well? Looking for a package deal for my boat.

Thank you!
Jerry

Jerry , I will get you a price on a twin package with headers for a Baja Outlaw. Question, do you have quick and quiet or captains call as this make a big difference with some headers? Let me know.

thanks,

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar
