I was also given a new michigan wheel apollo 23P (part#993026) with boat i have yet to try. Im sure it will help but is it enough? What was your stock bravo 1 gear ratio?

I was tied up next to a 25 Outlaw last weekend, there is so much more cocpit room in the 236 than any other power boat I have seen. I have had mine for 11 years and have kept it because of all the things that make it different. Like the walk through windshield with the molded in steps, anchor locker, ect... Getting back to your issues. The tach may be off. The 496 Mag has a rev limiter. Tap on the gage it will usually go back to normal. The Mirage prop works well on that boat, a lab finnish with "double cup" makes a big differenct. You should be able to run 4800 RPM @ 56-57MPH. You may have somthing out of wack with the engine. Start with the easy stuff like plugs, wires, timing, then let us know what you find out after that. Here is a link for you to play with. Your prop slip should be very low due to the deep propshaft. Mine is about 10-11% with the lab finished 25 Mirage.
