Still is a good looking 40.
Original power. The boat only has 88 hours. I am familiar with the boat, just didnt realize it was for sale until I stumbled upon it on Legends Site.

Mine ran 79.8 on the GPS, LOW fuel, 55' outside temp. BY BAJA/Merc at the factory run out.

We now have all our goodies in the boat, generally heavy on fuel. We are 74 all day long...

The x was raised by the factory when we ordered it. I am running standard 28p props, NOT labbed.

That sounds about right. I test drove an early 2000's 40 with 502's before I bought my Fountain and we got 76.2 mph GPS. I wonder what the 500EFI trip 40 gets - probably low 80's?

Looking for a second boat now, in this price range. What do you guys think of the ride of a 40 Outlaw vs. 38 Scarab?

82 which is what I've been told from another 40 owner with 500's.

Isn't that the boat that has been for sale at that price for almost 3 years? He needs to lower the price. A lot.

This looks like the one that was for sale in Georgia! If it was, it sat in the sun for a pretty long time with the cover off and it took its toll on the controls and the vinyl. The cabin was a tad beat up too...

What speed do you think you could get out of it with a higher X and some tweaking on the 500's?

The one that Legend has? I'm thinking it needs -2" shorties on it & the boxes would be needed to be jacked up as high as they will go, if they aren't there already.
Those Hydromotive props need to go too. Bravo's would be better on that boat.
If I were to own it all of the above would happen plus I'd cut the center skeg off & cam the 500's up.

The 40 is a very nice boat that rides and handles beautifully.

I have a good friend with a 38 Scarab and WOW they are really a nice boat. Starting to get just a little dated maybe but rock solid and holding their value well. Not that much faster than my 36 when we had the 500's but it would run 80 MPH.

We are finishing up a complete addition of transom boxes, HD transom assemblies, SCX drives and complete IMCO steering on the 36 Outlaw. All IMCO, ALL BRAND NEW.

It will be finished next month if you are interested in a super sweet 36 Outlaw on a new Myco with only 12 hours on custom engines and a complete custom McLeod interior.

I stand corrected... I was looking at picture 10/34 and the SS tips did not look polished and the lower units and trim tab looks like there was more than 88 hours on them. Is it stored outside?

88 hours on a 10 year old boat makes it a good find for someone in the market.
