Default My new 26' OUTLAW

Pretty excited. Picked up a 2007 26 outlaw with only 50hrs on her. All stock, and looks awesome!

I put it in last night for the first time. GPS'd 63-66 out of it. I would like to try to make some more power. What do you guys recommend? I want to get it to the 70-72 range.

I love the blue and black! Imo enjoy the boat like it is and save your money for your next boat because you WILL upgrade one day. Upgrading is cheaper then nodding yours. IF you are set on building this boat just swap out the motor and drive. Nothing else will satisfy or be worth the money.

You'll need about another 75-100 hp to get there.

Nice boat. Find a take out 525EFI if you want to run in the 70's.

+1 Upgrading will cost thousands and thats money that you'll never get back. Depending on the extent of the mods it might actually decrease the resale value. I've seen people drop 20 - 30K+ upgrading their boats when they could have just sold them and bought a faster boat for the same amount of money.

A few different options for upgrading to get more speed. The 65 MPH range you are in now is normal. Labbing a prop may net you a few but thats about it. Headers and ECM change will not do much to anything but will cost you alot. If you really are ready to spend some money, a 500 EFI or 525 EFI swap are both options but you are getting another USED engine that may have been treated well or may not have, just a roll of the dice if you do not know who the previous owner was. Both of those options will cost anywhere from $12k for 500 EFI with no headers all the way to upwards of $25K for late model low hour 525 EFI. You also will get some resale value out of your old 496 HO, somewhere in the range of $5K-$8K. Another few options would be to go with a Raylar HO525 kit which would cost in the range of $12K by the time all the work is done or a HO600 kit from Raylar which will cost in the $16K range by the time the dust has settled. But with these option you are getting basicly a rebuilt engine. Lots to consider and really how much money your willing to spend. Everyone on here will have their own opinions on which is better and there is no "right" or easy answer. Good Luck!!

That is a reliable package. They have a 600 too. A guy on bajaboatowners.com just put 2 in his 342.
